Introduction to Trauma - Part 3: What it Means to Be Trauma Informed

This final video shares information on what it means to be trauma informed and why organizations would be committed to changing their culture to being trauma involved. The goal is to reduce the likelihood of triggering or re-traumatizing not only those the organization serves but the staff as well. Many organizations and systems actually can harm those they are designed to support by not understanding the impact of trauma which can result in “sanctuary trauma”. The video provides an initial roadmap to the work that needs to be done within an organization to assess and change their policies, practices, environments, and relationships.
